  • 1 cup unsalted butter, chilled
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 3 cups apples, peeled and diced
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
  2. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Stir in cold water until the dough forms. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  4. In another bowl, mix apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
  5. Roll out the dough and cut into circles.
  6. Place filling on one half of each circle, fold over, and seal.
  7. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

  • Serve warm with a dusting of powdered sugar.
