  • 1 pound beef tenderloin
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cups mushrooms, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 sheets puff pastry
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Season the beef with salt and pepper, and sear in olive oil until browned on all sides.
  3. In a skillet, sauté the mushrooms and garlic until the moisture evaporates.
  4. Roll out the puff pastry and wrap the beef with mushroom mixture.
  5. Brush with beaten egg and place on a baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

  • Let the beef rest before slicing.
  • Serve with a side of asparagus or mashed potatoes.
