Manhattan Clam Chowder

A delicious twist on traditional clam chowder that incorporates turkey bacon for added flavor.

  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chopped tomatoes
  • 2 cups clam juice
  • 1 pound potatoes, diced
  • 2 cups canned clams, drained
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, cook the turkey bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and crumble.
  2. In the same pot, sauté the onion and garlic until translucent.
  3. Add the chopped tomatoes and clam juice, and bring to a simmer.
  4. Stir in the diced potatoes and cook until tender.
  5. Add the clams, thyme, and crumbled bacon. Season with salt and pepper. Serve hot.
