  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 jar marinara sauce
  • 4 sub rolls
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. Form the mixture into meatballs, about the size of a golf ball.
  4. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through.
  5. In a saucepan, heat the marinara sauce over medium heat and add the cooked meatballs.
  6. Slice the sub rolls and load them with meatballs and sauce.
  7. Top with mozzarella cheese and place the subs under the broiler for 2-3 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Notes

  • For added flavor, you can sprinkle fresh basil on top before serving.
