Pistachio Tiramisu: A Nutty Twist on a Classic Dessert

Pistachio Tiramisu is a delightful twist on the traditional Italian dessert, combining the creamy richness of mascarpone with the nutty flavor of pistachios.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1 cup pistachio nuts, crushed
  • 24 ladyfinger cookies
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the heavy cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
  2. In another bowl, mix the mascarpone cheese and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture gently.
  4. Dip each ladyfinger in the cooled coffee for about a second and layer them in a dish.
  5. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
  6. Sprinkle half of the crushed pistachios over the mascarpone layer.
  7. Repeat the layering process with the remaining ladyfingers, mascarpone mixture, and crushed pistachios.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for best flavor.
  9. Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, add a splash of coffee liqueur to the coffee.
  • Make sure the ladyfingers are not soaked for too long to prevent them from falling apart.
