Garlic Turmeric Rice

A delicious and vibrant side dish made with garlic and turmeric.

  • 1 cup long-grain rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a pot, heat olive oil over medium heat and add minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant.
  3. Add the rinsed rice to the pot, stirring well.
  4. Sprinkle in turmeric and salt, mixing until the rice is evenly coated.
  5. Add water and bring to a boil, then cover and simmer on low for 15-20 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and let sit for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork before serving.

Notes

  • Pair with grilled vegetables for a complete meal.
  • For extra flavor, add a bay leaf while cooking the rice.
